Delhi: In an exemplary display of braveness and quick-thinking, a national level shooter, Ayisha Falaq, rescued her brother-in-law from kidnappers on Sunday.
The girl, shot at kidnappers when they tried to run away from the site after sensing a trap by police. The timely use of ‘skill and talent’ by Ayisha, however, foiled the kidnappers' plan, leading to their arrest.
Asif, the 21-year-old part-time cab driver was kidnapped by his passengers, Rafee and Aakash. The duo sat in the cab in Daryaganj area and asked Asif to re-route to Bhajanpura after abducting him through mid-way.
The kidnappers made a ransom call and demanded Rs. 25,000 for the safe passage of the abductee.
Ayisha and her husband then informed the police and reached Shastri Park as told by the kidnappers along with police, but kidnappers felt the presence of a trap and drove away.
The kidnappers then called Asif’s family to come to Bhajanpura area with the money.
Ayisha, who won a bronze medal in 2015 North Zone shooting was carrying her .32 bore pistol. She fired the shots at the kidnappers in self-defense when they tried to escape and saved her brother-in-law’s life.
The kidnappers, one shot in his waist and other on his foot, again tried to run but were nabbed by the police.
