Kentucky Self-Defense: Police: Shooter apparently acted in self-defense before killing man in Lexington :: 08/09/2018
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Fayette County Coroner says that a man who was shot several times at an apartment building on Constitution Street has died.
According to the coroner, the victim is 34-year-old Shawn Michael Woods. He was rushed to UK Medical Center following the shooting, but died just after 7:30 a.m.
Lexington police say the shooting happened around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday. The person who shot Woods lived in the apartment complex.
Investigators believe Woods was breaking into multiple apartments throughout the morning after talking to witnesses.
A neighboring business owner told WKYT he had several run-ins with Woods in the last few days.
Police haven’t identified the man who shot woods. While they haven’t filed charges they say the shooting is still under investigation.
