Missouri Self-Defense: Man shoots burglar with thief's own gun :: 08/10/2016
A 30-year-old Grandview man who broke into a home early Tuesday and was shot by the resident has been charged.
Monte Hill faces first-degree burglary and armed criminal action charges. Prosecutors requested a bond of $75,000.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded about 2 a.m. to the 6100 block of East 97th Street on a reported shooting.
When officers arrived, they found Hill outside the house with an apparent gunshot wound in the abdomen. He told officers that the resident of the home shot him because he broke into the residence.
