New Mexico Self-Defense: Homeowner shoots home invasion suspect :: 01/23/2017
APD says the incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 9500 block of Sunburst road.
Police say a homeowner reported that two suspects forced entry into his home, where he confronted them. The police report says the homeowner reported the men were armed at the time he confronted them.
The homeowner admitted to police that he fired a weapon at the suspects. When police arrived one of the suspects was found dead in the yard of the house, and the second suspect was no longer at the house.
Police say the homeowner has not been charged with a crime, but the investigation is ongoing.
