North Carolina Self-Defense: Man stabbed to death in Winston-Salem break-in :: 09/24/2015
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - A Winston-Salem man has been stabbed to death after police say he broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment.
Police told local media that 32-year-old Michael Joyner died after he had been stabbed several times Tuesday morning.
Officers responding to a call found Joyner inside with several stab wounds. He was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he died.
Lt. Steve Tollie said a man in the apartment was involved in a fight with Joyner. The man suffered minor injuries in the fight. The woman was not there.
Police say the stabbing was self-defense and no charges will be filed.
